As we make our way back to Bali for New Year’s eve to ring in the new year on the beach, I remembered that I haven’t even written about the amazing villa we stayed at for Mike’s birthday at the end of August.
The night before the birthday and we're relaxing.
We found a great deal through latestays, which we had never used before but decided to give it a try. I mean, a private villa for a few days? The idea sounded so luxurious I almost couldn’t believe it was going to happen. We’d be arriving to Seminyak after spending a few days in Ubud so we wanted to have time to relax and enjoy Mike’s birthday in style.

We arrived to the Aria Luxury Villas & Spa and immediately felt welcome. The staff goes out of their way to ensure everyone is happy and all of their needs are met. After being shown to a villa that unfortunately had construction going on behind it, I explained that it was Mike’s birthday and we wanted something a little more quiet. The attendant told us if we were willing to wait, they’d upgrade us later on that night. We decided to wait and see.

The staff did not forget about us and later on that night transferred us to a gorgeously quiet villa. The pool sparkled in the night and came complete with 2 lounge chairs beside it, and the bed with the mosquito curtain was oh so romantic. The outdoor living area was a nice place to relax and we were able to store desserts and waters in the fridge. If we had wanted to cook we could have done so as well on the stovetop. They thought of everything.

We’d packed tiny little ipod speakers and we plugged them in and proceeded to swim in the pool, ordering room service to bring us some local white wine. It was delicious. The next day we ordered breakfast to be sent to the villa and the staff brought us an extra surprise.

The weather was gorgeous, it was a perfect day to celebrate a birthday. The staff was so kind in bringing us a cake.

Our visit included 2 hour long massages courtesy of paying with my Visa card for our stay, and we had the massages right on our lounge chairs in our villa. The massage was excellent and we were left feeling completely relaxed. If splurging felt this good I was definitely ready to do it again soon.

We stayed at the Aria Luxury Villas in Seminyak and found the experience amazing. Splurging every once in a while is good for you. We would definitely stay here again. The area was perfect as we rented a scooter and visited delicious restaurants we found nearby.
